Fort Myers AC Repair, From Historic Homes to New Builds
Fort Myers is the Lee County seat, stretched along the Caloosahatchee River. Its older neighborhoods near McGregor Boulevard have very different cooling needs than newer homes farther east, and we work on both.
Fort Myers questions first
How far is Fort Myers from Stone Cold Services?+
About 40 miles from North Port, usually an hour by car. Fort Myers is in our service area. Text Adam at (941) 661-4893 for availability.
Some rooms in my older Fort Myers house never cool. Why?+
Uneven cooling in older homes often comes from leaky, crushed or undersized ducts rather than the AC itself. A duct check is a good first step before replacing equipment, and zoning can split the house so each area gets the air it needs.
Do I need a permit to replace my AC in Fort Myers?+
Yes. Homes inside city limits are permitted through the City of Fort Myers. Unincorporated areas such as Iona go through Lee County. Adam pulls the permit on every replacement.
Older Fort Myers homes and their ducts
The Edison and Ford Winter Estates sit on McGregor Boulevard, and nearby historic neighborhoods such as Edison Park, Dean Park and Seminole Park hold some of the city's oldest houses. Homes from that era were built before central air was common, so any ductwork was added later, often through attics that get extremely hot in summer.
Leaky or poorly insulated attic ducts waste cooling and can pull in humid air. If some rooms never cool down, ductwork repair may help more than a bigger system. Adam repairs ducts and installs zoned systems, so a hot back bedroom can get its own thermostat.
